Little About Me

I’m an Austin-based visual artist working primarily in oil paint, where I explore the movement of color as a language for emotion, embodiment, and transformation. My work reflects an ongoing conversation between feeling and form, theory and experience. I draw from Bakhtin’s concept of the grotesque and Northrop Frye’s Anatomy of Criticism to ground my feminist practice in a framework of cyclical renewal, tension, and release. Each canvas becomes a landscape of emotional motion, a record of internal dialogue rendered through hue, rhythm, and gesture.

My experience living with PMDD has become central to my creative process. Through painting, I navigate the shifting boundaries between pain and peace, chaos and stillness. My art seeks to make visible the interior world of women’s health and emotional life, experiences that are often unseen, unheard, or misunderstood. This vision extends into my collaborative and interdisciplinary projects, including Quiet Tears of Roses. This ballet merges visual art and choreography to embody the complexities of women’s resilience, vulnerability, and strength.

Beyond the studio, I find fulfillment in sharing art with others through community outreach and engagement. I especially enjoy working with children, helping them discover their creative voice and the healing potential of artistic expression. I also create large-scale murals that bring color, narrative, and hope into shared public spaces, transforming walls into places of connection and reflection.

Ultimately, my practice is an exploration of empathy, of how color, movement, and emotion can bridge what words cannot. I believe art has the power to humanize pain, to translate silence into story, and to remind us that beauty often grows from what is most difficult to hold.
